Urban Intersections: Class, Race, Gender and Gentrification (Organisers: Nick Bentley and James Peacock) 

BACLS members are warmly invited to attend a free online symposium on Friday 7 May, 2 p.m. - 5.30 p.m.  There will be nine papers from scholars based in Canada, Germany, the USA and the UK. These papers take intersectional approaches to the gentrification of urban spaces as it has been represented in post-war and contemporary literary works by authors including Sarah Schulman, Richard Wright, Hanif Abdurraqib, Teju Cole, Benjamin Markovits, Otessa Moshfegh and Tom McCarthy.
